Introduction to UV pages

Within these pages we report on the spectral UV measurements made at Reading in the UK. For public information the daily UV index and an HPA daily UV Index measurements.

Daily UV forecasts for the UK are also available from the spectral UV measurement data (Met Office website).

The spectral UV measurements are carried out by Dr. Ann Webb and her team at the University of Manchester under a Defra funded contract. If the data (see an example - ZIP Format) are downloaded for research purposes then an acknowledgement of the project team and funding source (Defra) would be appreciated.
